Service Description
ADVANCED SPANISH This adult group course is designed for students who already have a strong foundation in Spanish and can hold conversations in full sentences, but want to speak with greater fluency, speed, and sophistication. MAKE IT ALL COME TOGETHER At the Advanced level, the focus is not simply on learning more grammar. It’s about learning to use the Spanish you already know more naturally and spontaneously in real conversation. You’ll continue strengthening your use of past, present, and future tenses while learning to move between them more comfortably as conversations develop. EXPRESS MORE COMPLEX IDEAS You’ll learn the present subjunctive and use it to express opinions, reactions, recommendations, doubts, wishes, and other ideas that require more nuanced Spanish. You’ll also expand your use of idiomatic expressions and develop the language you need to discuss more complex and thought-provoking topics. CONVERSATION IS AT THE HEART OF THE COURSE Classes center around guided conversations and discussions that challenge you to express and defend opinions, describe experiences, react to other people's ideas, and talk about present, past, and future events with greater depth. The goal is to increase your speaking speed and help you rely less on mentally constructing or translating sentences before you speak. PREPARE AT HOME — SPEAK IN CLASS You’ll receive weekly grammar review and practice assignments to prepare for each class, allowing us to dedicate more class time to actually using Spanish. Grammar questions are addressed as they naturally arise during speaking practice, helping you connect the rules you’ve learned with the Spanish you actually want to say. SMALL GROUPS — MAXIMUM 6 STUDENTS Small classes create the space for sustained conversation, active participation, individual feedback, and plenty of opportunities to speak. If you already know a lot of Spanish but want to bring everything together and express yourself with greater fluency, spontaneity, and depth, Advanced Spanish is designed to help you make that transition.
